Joseph Leone is a Partner in the New York office of Federman Steifman LLP. Mr. Leone has extensive experience in negotiating, structuring and closing a vast array of commercial real estate transactions nationally, from complex billion-dollar deals for institutional clients to nuanced local matters involving family offices and businesses.
Mr. Leone has represented numerous developers, investment funds, REITs, banks and alternative lenders in all aspects of commercial real estate investment, operation and financing, including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, mortgage and mezzanine loans (both borrower and lender representation) and structuring of joint ventures and other partnerships.
Prior to joining Federman Steifman LLP, Mr. Leone was associated with the real estate groups of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, where he represented primarily institutional clients in a multitude of transactions, including:
$2.2 billion dollar acquisition and CMBS financing of 245 Park Avenue.
Modification of a construction loan and obtaining mezzanine financing in connection with a condominium development in lower Manhattan.
Obtaining construction financing secured by the historic “Watchtower” building in Brooklyn.
Portfolio sale of several office buildings in Westchester County.
Origination of a mezzanine loan and negotiation of intercreditor rights in connection with the purchase and rebranding of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.
Joint venture restructurings in connection with apartment and hotel developments in Williamsburg and Times Square.
Closing a combined value of over 2 billion dollars in purchases and sales of office and multifamily buildings in New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia and other major cities.
